Uniforms
Research indicates that there is a distinct relationship between students’ attire and their classroom behavior, attitude, and achievement. Uniforms are worn at Woodfield Academy to create an atmosphere conducive to learning. Students are expected to show pride in their appearance by wearing clean uniforms and wearing them appropriately. The faculty and staff reserve the right to make final judgment of the appropriateness of any item worn to school.
IF AN ITEM IS NOT LISTED IN THIS DRESS CODE, IT IS NOT ALLOWED.
- Pants/shorts - dress type khaki, navy blue or black pants/shorts. Pants may have an elastic waist (Capri’s, cargos, and low rise pants are not allowed). Shorts and skorts must be approximately knee-length. Pants must fit and be worn and the appropriate waistline.
- Skirts/skorts - girls in grades 2nd-5th may wear khaki, navy blue or black skort (Buckhead Style# 7931 or Style# 907). Skirts and skorts must be approximately knee-length. Girls in grade 6th-12th may wear khaki, navy blue or black skirt (Buckhead Style# 143). Skirts and skorts may only be bought from Buckhead Uniforms.
- Shirts - collared shirts that are solid burgundy, white or gray. Fashion fit shirts (defined as shirts for girls that are form fitting) may not be worn. Shirts must be tucked in so that the belt can be seen. Undershirts must match outer shirt.
- Belt - if pants or shorts are designed for a belt, a solid color navy blue, black, or brown belt is worn. Braided leather or canvas belts are allowed. Belts must fit and be free of ornamentation.
- Shoes - grades 2nd-8th may wear solid brown or black leather shoes, tennis shoes that are black, blue, gray, white or a combination of these colors may be worn. NO OTHER COLORS ARE PERMITTED, REGARDLESS OF AMOUNT. Solid Vans and Converse All-Stars are allowed. Boots, high-tops, or heelies may not be worn.
9th-12th grade may wear brown and black leather shoes only. - Sweaters/sweatshirts - students may wear a plain gray, white or burgundy cardigan sweater fleece or sweatshirt. When wearing sweatshirts, shirt collars should be visible outside of sweatshirt. During cold weather, an additional coat or jacket may be worn on top of the sweatshirt while students are outside.
- Watches and Accessories - girls and boys may wear a watch. No baseball caps or sunglasses may be worn during school hours. Girls may wear one pair of earrings. Jewelry should be kept to a minimum.
- Personal Appearance - for boys, hair may not hang below eyebrows or ears and must be above the collar. Hairstyles may not be distracting to other students or faculty. Boys must be clean shaven every day. Body piercings and tattoos are not permitted. The faculty and staff reserve the right to determine which hairstyles are distracting.

Out of Uniform Days
On all out-of-uniform days, dress should be nice casual. Any writing on clothing must be appropriate. Skirts and shorts must be knee-length. No tank tops, halter tops, or spaghetti straps are allowed. Clothing should be free from holes or fraying.
